Fable Creator Excited To Play Fable “As A Gamer”
Fable is probably one of the most recognizable XBOX IPs, or at least it used to be when Lionhead was at the helm. Now, Playground Games has to pick up the pieces, set their racing game dev experience aside, and produce something that will hopefully feel akin to a modern entry to the iconic classic.
In an interview with PCGamesN, Fable creator, Peter Molyneux, has shared his excitement to play the game, especially as this the first Fable where he’s playing it “as a gamer” as opposed to part of the team behind the development.
“I end up playing whichever game I’m making hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of times. So, in one way, this version of Fable will be the first Fable I’ve really played as a gamer. And that’s going to be absolutely fascinating to play. I can’t wait.”
Honestly, I’m kind of optimistic about Fable, as in the end, this game isn’t rocket science — give me some solid mythical creatures to swing a sword at with just of that charmingly janky combat to fill in dead air and I’ll be a happy Hero.
Following a few delays, Fable has settled into releasing on February 27, 2027.
