Fable’s Team Is Made Up Of OG Trilogy Fans
One of the things that struck me as “weird” was Playground Games, a studio that hasn’t touched a non-racing game before going from pushing the throttle in a car to swinging a sword in the established fantasy world of Fable. Well, apparently, I should hopefully not worry too much as ‘s team is made of fans of the original trilogy.
During an interview with Future Games Show, game director Ralph Fulton shared that “every single member” of the team is a Fable fan. Of course, he can’t truly confirm that without a shadow of a doubt, but I’m sure fans are very much hoping that this return to Albion is going to be a whole lot better than the card game or Xbox 360 Connect adventure, Fable: The Journey.
“I’ll tell you, every single member – and I can say this without qualification – every single member of the team is first and foremost a Fable fan. We built this team from scratch, and many of them, if not to say most of them, have traveled from all over the world to our little town in the middle of Warwickshire in England. And the reason they did that? It wasn’t to work for Playground Games.
Maybe that was a factor, but each and every one of them came here because they’re a Fable fan. They love the series, they want to bring it back. So, that’s the thing. The first day they walked into the studio, what they had in common with everyone else was that they were here to make a great Fable game. And I think you can sense that; you can feel that from the game that they’ve made.”
Fable was gonna launch later this year, but it ended up delayed until February 23, 2027, a change that the studio is happy about to avoid the “chaotic window.”
