More evidence has been put forward as to why Xbox has been rather loosey-goosey about keeping their first-party games on their dedicated hardware. Simply put, they’re killing it on PlayStation.
Circana’s Mat Piscatella shared on Bluesky that six of the top 10 games on PlayStation were published by Microsoft, including Forza Horizon 5, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Doom: The Dark Ages, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and more.
Of note, this is just accounting for US sales, other countries are still up in the air, but we suspect Xbox is definitely making more with their games on PS in regions where their hardware sorely falls behind.
This proves to us that they’re absolutely going to keep releasing first-party games on competing platforms, which in turn, can be put right back into making stellar games.
