Microsoft will throw anywhere from $50K to over $50M at developers to include their game on Game Pass.
Following the slurry of layoffs, former senior business development manager Iain MacIntyre shared that info on LinkedIn (via Timur222), noting that they secured deals ranging from that lower-end figure to the top-end, but doesn’t go into any more details beyond that it includes “indie hits and AAA titles.”
“Negotiated 500+ deals ranging from $50k to over $50m, securing both indie hits and AAA titles for Game Pass.”
The only game MacIntyre directly pointed to in his 500+ deals was Vampire Survivors. It doesn’t go into details about whether this is a rolling fee Microsoft pays or if this is a one-time deal for a period before discussions reset.
