Rare Vet Moves Into New Role At Xbox

Louise O’Connor has left behind Rare in favor of a new role that will probably still feel a bit close to home. This comes in light of the shuttering of one of the rare instances of Rare developing a new IP, Everwild.

As reported by VGC, O’Connor was a senior creative at Rare, having worked on the original Conker’s Bad Fur Day on the N64. She was their head of animation and its incubation team. Now, she’s shifted roles and (technically companies) as she now serves as Xbox Game Studios’ chief of staff.

Earlier this year, Xbox had shaved 9,000 people from their payroll, which led to concerns raised about current games, studio closures, and the shelving of some games, too.
