Rare isn’t holding back any punches with its newest Sea of Thieves update, which clocks in on systems as over 100GB. The update seems to be the only massive one for some time, as the developer promises future updates will be “considerably smaller.”
On the game’s official website, it listed the size of the update, which adds some quality-of-life features, upgrading some voyages, better rewards, water physics, and more. It also brings the game to the latest version of the Xbox GDK (Game Development Kit). PC users are encouraged to update their drivers for the best performance.
Sizes:
- Xbox Series X: 88.36 GB
- Xbox Series S: 90.15 GB
- Xbox One X: 88.36 GB
- Xbox One: 90.15 GB
- Microsoft Store: 102 GB
- Steam: 10.49 GB
This monstrously sized update comes at the heels of a handful of Xbox exclusives being poised to get the port treatment to other platforms. We don’t actively know what games are part of this strategy, but through clues sprinkled in during the announcement, many believe Sea of Thieves is at the top of the list.
