It sounds like Sea of Thieves, Rare’s ongoing live-service venture, might hit PlayStation after remaining an Xbox and PC exclusive since 2018. This follows the recent report of Microsoft bringing its third-party games to competing platforms.
Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb also said during an episode of Game Mess Morning that the premium live-service on PlayStation and the Switch. In a similar vein, Stephen Totilo’s Game File alleges, with the backing of a source, that a PS version is a possibility. If that wasn’t enough, VGC‘s Andy Robinson on Twitter notes that while he couldn’t confirm it, he has heard whispers about it.
Sea of Thieves fosters a decently sized player base, with it going past 15 million players back in 2020, and we don’t necessarily have reason to believe it’s shrunk that much, considering Rare’s constant updates and dedication to the live-service game.
