“Competition And Collaboration Can Co-Exist,” Says Asha Sharma
It’s pretty clear that unlike while Phil Spencer was steering the ship, XBOX is actually trying to compete with PlayStation, but that doesn’t mean they can’t play nice every now and then to collaborate.
In an interview with The New York Times (via Pure Xbox), she asserted that competition and collaboration aren’t mutually exclusive. I’d have to agree here. Looking at the library the console makers share; we’ve seen Gears of War end up on PlayStation 5, albeit not the upcoming E-Day, which was suddenly pulled under the exclusive umbrella, PlayStation has brought Helldivers 2 to Xbox, and more.
Meanwhile, later in the interview, she was asked if she’d apologize for snapping up Physint, which Sony was on the brink of canceling. Honestly, it’s a silly idea to try and pressure Sharma to apologize for rescuing a project that was otherwise gonna be on the chopping block.
