Square Enix has further reinforced their dedication to release more games on Xbox, as well as an overall multiplatform strategy, after deciding releasing games on PlayStation first isn’t as profitable as it once was.
Within its earnings report, we see that they plan to “aggressively pursue” this strategy, which means their major game series and AAA catalog will release on more platforms on the get-go for more customers to enjoy.
“For HD titles, the Group will aggressively pursue a multiplatform strategy that includes Nintendo platforms, PlayStation, Xbox, and PCs. Especially, in regards to major franchises and AAA titles including catalog titles, it will build an environment where more customers can enjoy our titles.”
