A new Spyro the Dragon game — Spyro 4, to be more precise — very well may be in development, according to one Spyro and Crash expert. While speculation has been on the rise for a while, it came to a head when early in the year, Toys for Bob used an image of the purple dragon.
YouTuber Canadian Guy Eh exclusively dives into the scoop, while Windows Central’s Jez Cordon broke the story of TFB partnering with Microsoft on its next game, private discussions he’s had with other developers and people in media at PAX East this year have all shared similar information about the status of Spyro 4.
Supposedly, one developer confirmed the game’s active development began just this year in January, so it’ll be some time before we get to see the purple dragon in all his glory again. CGE does warn people, though, due to it only beginning development this year, it’s all too possible for the game to shift focus into something completely different, get delayed, or even shelved.
What do you think? Are you excited that Spyro 4 is in development?
