Accessory maker Hyperkin is reintroducing this generation of Xbox gamers to the OG Xbox controller — Controller S. While Japan got this controller, the rest of the world got the bulky “Duke” controller.
As reported by The Verge, this controller features modern amenities like Hall effect joysticks and triggers alongside a standard gamepad. Dubbed “DuchesS,” this isn’t Hyperkin’s first rodeo with making the retro Xbox controllers more viable nowadays. This will mark its third retro controller based on Microsoft’s console, following its take on the iconic Duke and a 360-era controller, too, just last year.
Much like other Hyperkin products, it’s completely compatible — which is important — with Xbox Series X|S alongside modern Windows versions. It also comes packaged with a USB-C, a share button, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Currently, we only know it’s in development — exact release dates and prices are up in the air for now, but we can rest assured, it’ll probably be a cool third-party controller to attain if you’re looking for a blast from the past.
