Not long ago, Double Eleven’s PS4 port of Rockstar’s hit Red Dead Redemption quietly patched in a 60fps mode. Now, Xbox owners who — much like the PC crowd — never got the port is wondering when their turn is.
According to IGN, Rockstar never ported RDR to Xbox One because it could still play it through backwards compatibility. But, with the inclusion of this new mode, it puts it a step above the original, which is capped at 30fps. Some want to see Xbox use the long-forgotten FPS Boost to give a level of parity.
It’s worth pointing out that the PS4 — and Nintendo Switch — version hit digital stores back in August and with two months since with no word of a new version, we can almost rule out Rockstar revealing a Red Dead Redemption port to Xbox One.
