Xbox Is Prototyping Some Sort Of New Handheld

Microsoft is allegedly working on prototyping some sort of handheld device under the Xbox banner. While it’s not confirmed, obviously, a lot of ongoing rumors continue to pile on.

During an episode of Xbox Two podcast, reputable insider Jez Cordon weighed in, saying that the American console maker has handheld prototypes “right now.” Though, he did stress it’s a prototype situation, so in the end, the product might not even head to market.

Reportedly, this isn’t like the PlayStation Portal — it’s a fully native Xbox device. We do, though, while we don’t have any reason to, believe it may largely hinge on streaming for the best performance, but that’s largely speculation based on the markets that Xbox has been successful in.

We have a hunch that it’s gonna be a while before Microsoft actually unveils any plans to enter the handheld market.

What do you think? Could Xbox make it in the handheld market?
