When Can We Expect More News About Gears Of War: E-Day?

It’s been about six months since Xbox fans were graced with the reveal trailer for the next Gears of War game, Gears of War: E-Day. It is a prequel set 14 years before the events of the first game, showing the pivotal events of Emergence Day, the most important day of the Gears of War lore. But with The Game Awards just gone by, there was no new trailer or anything. So, when can we expect an update? Here, we will lay out a timeline for the next game showcases so we can predict when the next possible trailer might come out. 

The next Xbox showcase is the Microsoft Developer Direct, which will be held on January 25. This is a showcase that solely focuses on Xbox first-party developers and their upcoming games and updates. As much as this would be a perfect time to release some more news about the next Gears game, Microsoft has stated that this showcase will focus on studios such as Bethesda, Arkane Austin, and Mojang. While they didn’t explicitly say that The Coalition wouldn’t be involved, it seems unlikely at the moment. 

The event we can almost guarantee to see more Gears news is the Xbox Games Showcase, which happens in June 2025. This is the same showcase that Gears of War: E-Day was revealed, which would make it one whole year without any Gears news. Here, we can most likely expect another trailer featuring some gameplay and, hopefully, a release date. 

It’s unlikely The Coalition will drop updates about the game outside of a major event. For now, all we can do is wait and see.
