A new patent has been uncovered giving us a glimpse into a new Xbox controller, perhaps for the next generation. The controller is codenamed Sebile.
As reported by Windows Central, this new controller stems from leaked info we got during the acquisition trial of Activision Blizzard. The patent they uncovered was tied to the ditched mid-gen refresh, though, they believe “on good authority” that it still exists.
Of note, a better look at the purpose of the “trousers” on the two-tone controller was given in the patent and its purpose.
“A device configured to generate haptic feedback is disclosed. The device includes a housing, a connector, and a haptic motor. The connector includes a mount end coupled to the housing and a distal end spaced away from the mount end. The haptic motor is coupled to the distal end of the connector. Activation of the haptic motor causes the haptic motor to move relative to the housing to generate the haptic feedback.”
This controller will come packaged with tons of new features like Direct-to-Cloud, improved thumbsticks, haptic feedback, and other details you can read above.
