Multiple Studios Put In Bids To Buy Arkane, XBOX “Not Yet Come To An Agreement”
Perhaps I was a bit premature in praising XBOX for giving Arkane Lyon more time to find a buyer, as a new report asserts multiple bids have been put in, but XBOX has “not yet come to an agreement with any potential buyer.” Additionally, Marvel’s Blade is also expected to release within the next year or two, but of course, that’s assuming the studio isn’t shut down before then.
A Bloomberg report shares that multiple studios put in bids to acquire the Dishonored and Deathloop dev ahead of its December deadline. The only studio named in the report is Ubisoft, but unfortunately, things aren’t going so smoothly.
XBOX has also “weighed selling the studio to its management,” which means that there is potential for the team’s leadership to buy freedom, similar to Double Fine, which pivoted back to being an indie studio with their recent not-so-hot PC-only release, Thank You Bus Driver.
Right now, the dev has until December before the studio will likely face closure.
