Microsoft To Pull Employees’ Free Game Pass Benefit

If you are among the 238,000 Microsoft employees, one of the company’s most hobbyist benefits is getting more restricted. This doesn’t mean regular Microsoft employees won’t get a discount, but it’s just that — a discount — while Xbox and Microsoft Gaming employees continue their free Game Pass benefit.

As reported by The Verge, Microsoft is planning on pulling its free Game Pass Ultimate benefit for most employees in favor of a discounted 12-month subscription within its internal store. The source familiar with the plans says the benefit will be gone next year.

Supposedly, employees voiced their objections to the change following the service’s first-ever price hike. It even sounds like Xbox boss Phil Spencer wasn’t even made aware of the change of benefits and is “looking into the situation.”

What do you think? Should regular Microsoft employees get free Game Pass Ultimate or should it just be relegated to its gaming divisions? Let us know below!
