It seems that Xbox’s stealth drop, that being the rhythm action game Hi-Fi Rush is in the running for three nominations at this year’s D.I.C.E. Awards. Tango Gameworks’ game is pinned against some stiff competition in all categories.
The 27th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards is underway, with winners announced on February 15 during the D.I.C.E. Summit. Alongside its nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Animation, it’s also a contender for Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design and Action Game of the Year.
For a game so rooted in stylized gameplay and rhythm, it definitely stands a fighting chance against the competition. With its Outstanding Achievement in Animation, it faces the likes of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Mortal Kombat 1, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Final Fantasy 16. Its nomination for Outstanding Audio Design includes Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake 2, Cocoon, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Finally, the one with the most competition — Action Game of the Year — includes Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Dead Space, Remnant 2, and — you guessed it — Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
