Halo Studios Faces Layoffs Following Halo: Campaign Evolved Release

News | Xbox Series X|S
ByGabriel Stanford-Reisinger August 6, 2026August 6, 2026

Not long — only days — after the release of Halo: Campaign Evolved, several devs have found themselves out of the job as Halo Studios undergoes layoffs.

Devs have started sharing that their time at Halo Studios has come to an end, namely people like Paul Morris, a two-year “Scrum Master,” four-year software engineer vet, Caleb Lawrence, and producer, and six-year vet, Nick Treitman. Of the three, only Morris was listed as a contractor.

Halo: Campaign Evolved launched to some decent success on Xbox and PC, but when it came to PlayStation, things weren’t looking too hot.

Frankly, this is the sad reality of the industry nowadays where making a game that sells well enough doesn’t really mean the studio is safe from the looming threats of layoffs.

Before going Team Blue, Gabe filled his time playing Halo 3, Fable 2, Gears of War, and whatever demo he could get his hands on.
