Final Fantasy VII Revelation Will Be Among The Biggest File Size In Xbox History

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is going to be a big game, not just in terms of culturally, as this is the big sendoff for the Final Fantasy VII R trilogy, but also in terms of file size (and this being the first time the game is arriving on Xbox Series X|S day-and-date across all platforms). Not long ago, it was confirmed that it would be around 200GB, cementing itself among the biggest file sizes in the console’s history.

For context, the only games with larger install sizes on Xbox is ARK: Survival Evolved at a whopping 435GB and Destiny 2 at 299GB. Basically, consider this your warning to clear a quarter of your console storage ahead of release if you’re wanting to jump right into the finale of the whole remake trilogy.

The larger file size isn’t too shocking, as the games have been getting grander as Square Enix nears the climax of the remade trilogy, and this one will have DLCs.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation launches day-and-date on Xbox Series X|S alongside the other platforms on April 8, 2027.
