Blizzard Is Microsoft’s “Top Performing” Studio
No studio is made the same, sometimes, especially if they were already on track for greatness, they will be bound to perform on the market very well. Blizzard, apparently, is Microsoft’s “top performing” studio largely thanks to their live service games like World of Warcraft and Overwatch.
Emails acquired by Windows Central from Blizzard president, Johanna Faries, celebrated the team as well as laid out the studio’s performance, which was actually not doing too bad despite XBOX overall finding themselves 11% down. This percentage down is attributed to bigger franchises (Call of Duty and Candy Crush) just not hitting the numbers XBOX were hoping for during the fiscal year.
“In FY26 Blizzard ended the year as the top-performing studio in Xbox’s studios division, and this past year has marked our third highest fiscal for top line revenue in Blizzard’s history.”
Moreover, the studio is seeing growth, growth that they haven’t seen since the launch of (OG) Overwatch in 2016. I think this is the best outcome we could’ve hoped for. I also really, really, really hope that Activision won’t be facing layoffs any time soon, considering the very upbeat email from Faries.
