AI Is Not Mandated At Xbox, Xbox Dev Insists

Compulsion Games has assured fans that Xbox is not mandating studios use its generative AI, Muse, which Microsoft made to help develop games. Of course, the American tech giant already assured that.

Speaking with Game Developer, Guillaume Provost addressed it, noting that they can “absolutely guarantee” that AI is optional, while also stating that it would likely not use it as the games they make simply don’t jive with AI too much.

“I can absolutely guarantee [that generative AI usage] is not mandated. You’re talking to the studio that literally builds s**t by hand. In the DNA of the studio that we have, we’re very craft oriented. We’re very art oriented.”
