McNabb Named Madden Cover Athlete

EA Sports today continued to parade their list of cover athletes for this year’s upcoming wave of games and officially announced that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will grace the cover of Madden NFL 06 when it hits retail for the XBOX in early August.
Although there have been leaks about McNabb being this year’s Madden cover athlete in the past few weeks, the official word came down from EA this afternoon.
“This is one of the top honors in the NFL—you truly have it made when you are on the cover of Madden NFL Football,” McNabb said in a statement. “With all the attention and changes that they (Madden development team Tiburon) have made to the passing and the focus on the quarterback this year, it was worth the wait to be the cover guy and part of the EA SPORTS team.”
Indeed, Madden NFL 06 is sporting some changes to the passing attack, with the new additions of Vision Control and Precision Placement. EA notes that these changes are the most substantial changes to the passing game in the last 10 years.
Stay tuned for more information regarding this and all of the other games from the E3 show floor as we gear up for a blitz of E3 coverage.
